About the course

Learn basic concepts of the Kanban Method. Team members will learn how to be effective within a Kanban team.

Who should attend?

Team members and managers who want to understand key concepts in Kanban and get started.

What will you learn?

• Basic Kanban concepts: the visual board, work-in-process (WIP), and local cycle time metric
• Kanban's core practices
• How to use a Team Kanban board to improve transparency, collaboration, and balance
• Key Team Kanban board design patterns and how to choose the right one for your team
• How to apply WIP limits and deal with work of various degrees of urgency
• How to conduct Kanban-style standup meetings and replenishment
• Limitations of team-level Kanban and when it is not appropriate
• What your company may need to do beyond Team Kanban

Agenda

• Introduction to Kanban, core practices and basic concepts
• Team Kanban simulation (different scenarios)
• Board design patterns, design and refine your own
• Feedback loops, limitations of the team-level approach

Certification

• Participants will receive a Team Kanban Practitioner certificate from Kanban University (KU) as well as membership of KU.
• If you are interested in becoming a Certified Kanban Management Professional (KMP), we also offer the KMP1 and KMP2 courses.
